EViE is a conference for students of evaluation and novice evaluators (emerging evaluators). It aims to foster dialogue about important topics that are encountered in evaluation theory and practice. EViE provides a forum for the emergent voices in evaluation. The Conference promotes critical thinking, social justice, and relationship development among conference attendees and beyond.
In the fourth year of the annual EViE conference, it will be hosted virtually by the University of North Carolina at Greensboro May 20 and 21st, and the theme is Centering Equity and Social Justice in the Changing Evaluation Landscape: What’s Next for the Field of Evaluation?
We are honored to have Dr. Melvin Hall as the keynote speaker for EViE 2021.
Dr. Melvin Hall is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Educational Psychology at Northern Arizona University. Dr. Hall has extensive expertise in the role of culture in evaluation and is a Founding Faculty Affiliate of the Center for Culturally Responsive Evaluation and Assessment. Dr. Hall has over 40 years of experience in higher education including serving as Dean at four universities. Some of his present engagements include projects aimed at broadening participation in STEM and the intersectionality of race and class in evaluation.
The EViE Conference is hosted by UNC Greensboro’s Department of Educational Research Methodology, and the first three events have been a great success, drawing students from universities in North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Georgia. EViE features original research and evaluation work from diverse fields such as education, public health, and international development and is intended to serve as a catalyst in promoting collaboration and scholarship among emerging researchers and evaluators.
EViE 2021 has received funding and support from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
